Fashion is the word that usually reminds of something new for women, usually a dress or an accessory. One of these accessories is a handbag for men, called a briefcase. The briefcase actually comes from the 14th century when satchels were used to transport valuables. Satchels are bags with diagonal straps crossing the body of the bag. The bag is then hung from the shoulder on the opposite hip. Today satchels are widely used for carrying books and made out of leather or cloth like jeans etc.
Briefcases are also used today, but usually in office or corporate positions. It actually gives a business type look like a lawyer with a typical hard lined case.
